No ceasefire Condeleeza !?
When the UN security council is trying to find a quick solution to stop the destruction of Lebanon, W and Rice are opposing a ceasefire... instead, they are fueling the Israeli war machine, nice selling skills you have here guys...Israeli bomb flights scandal in UK
Has the United States been using a Scottish airport as a staging post for transporting bombs to Israel?
That is the question is at the centre of a scandal putting strains on the special relationship between Britain and the US. British Foreign Minister Margaret Beckett has complained to Washington amid reports that two cargo planes loaded with weapons stopped for refuelling at Glasgow's Prestwick Airport.
"I have already let the United States know that this is an issue that appears to be seriously at fault, that we will be making a formal protest if it appears that that is what has happened," she said.
"We are still looking into the facts but I have already notified the United States that we are not happy about it."
Britain is concerned over whether correct procedures were followed. It is claimed the aircraft were delivering bunker-busting bombs for use in Israel's offensive in Lebanon. The scandal threatens to overshadow British Prime Minister Tony Blair's visit to the US today. Some reports, meanwhile, suggest London will allow more US aircraft carrying arms to Israel to stop over on British soil."

Anis!
It's me....
Long time!
About the war, it really has never been peaceful in Israel ever since its existence. And people in the south are still living normal lives, unlike the people in the north; ironic. Phanatics are taking over the world now...religious phanatics. But I think it is bizaare that the media chooses to focus on the middle east when there is genocide in darfur. I guess people are dispensible when it come to politics. But then again they can only help themselves in africa when it come to installing a proper government and so on...it takes time of course, and lots of bloodshed. But this is the cycle of history that repeats itself over and over again. There are always innocent people dying.
About Israel though, I have relatives there as you might now. And it really is a weird situation to be right now...worrying won't help them and they are reluctant to move. So there is not much I can do, but the fact is the conflict is inevitable.
Something that might interest you about the topic of the Middle East...

Anyways, what have you been up to?
I just got back from Quebec, I went skydiving there! So cool! Not really scary at all. I went to a Tunisian restaurant there on rue St. Jean...reeeally good! The waiter really reminded me of you :) Tried some QC chiken another time, with some special sauce, but it really does NOT compare. Anyways, I'm back and I can't wait to go to a Thai restaurant....
Have fun in the sun!
Polina
Tara, Rita always good to hear from you... You're always welcome in Tun...
Polina, finally hearing from you, it looks like you had an awesome time in QC, I understand you not bothering about sending emails then ;)
Very nice article btw, I particularly liked this part: "And although Israel claims that its actions are retaliatory, the recent invasion of Lebanon suggests that either Israel grossly overreacted or that it has adopted a new American-style, preventative national policy."
Take care ladies
A.
